Celebrate National Beer Day at These Reston Breweries

Sunday, April 7 is National Beer Day! This national holiday began on April 7, 1933 when President Franklin Roosevelt signed a law into effect that took a step toward ending Prohibition by allowing people to brew and sell beer. People were excited to be able to buy beer again for the first time in thirteen years, and celebrations happened all over the country.

To celebrate National Beer Day today, there are a number of great beer-centric establishments all over the area. Here are a few of our favorites.

CrafthouseSip local beers from a selection of more than 50 taps and 250 craft beers and ciders at this comfortable, welcoming restaurant. In addition to the great beer selection, you’ll also find an extensive food menu of flatbreads, tacos, burgers and more, as well as local spirits and wines for the non-beer-drinkers in your crew.

Aslin Beer Company. This stylish, modern brewery in Herndon puts out truly unique beers in collectible cans that beer lovers go crazy for. There’s often a long line for each new release, but regulars say it’s well worth it to sample these impressive brews.

Lake Anne Brew House. This nano-brewery and taproom is conveniently located in Lake Anne Village Center Plaza in Reston. The high quality beers here won five awards from the Virginia Brewers Guild Beer Cup in 2016 and 2017, and today, you can sample them in a beautiful tasting room furnished with mid-century modern furniture and decor.
