How to Celebrate July Fourth in Reston

If you’re still looking for something fun to do on your day off this week, the town of Reston and the surrounding region have plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Your community has a lot planned for the Fourth of July, starting with the Firecracker 5K in Reston Town Center. The race begins at 8 a.m. and takes you all over Reston, culminating in a finish-line festival complete with live music and snacks.

After the race, head over to Herndon to enjoy a full day of patriotic fun. The town will host its own Independence Day bash with games, crafts, and music. When the sun finally sets, stick around to "ooh" and "aah" over the fireworks show. Or you can celebrate the Fourth in Fairfax, where an Independence Day parade takes to the streets in the afternoon, before dusk falls and the city’s own fireworks display begins.
