The Washington West Film Festival Is a Must-See for Cinephiles

The Washington West Film Festival isn’t just another event for film buffs. It’s an experiment in philanthropy. When its founder Brad Russell launched the festival in 2011, he was determined to give 100% of the proceeds to organizations that benefitted the community. Now eight years later, he continues to do just that, donating to arts education programs for foster children and other charitable endeavors.

So you can feel good about where your money is going when you grab a ticket to the Washington West Film Festival, which will run from October 24th to 28th at a handful of venues around Reston. From documentaries to short and feature films, the lineup contains a wide variety of pieces—some starring faces you’ll probably recognize. The festival also consists of panels with directors, actors, and other players in the world of film. Ticket prices vary based on the event.
