Home Decorating Trends for 2021
Now that the new year has (finally) arrived, why not take this opportunity to refresh your space? Try a few of these up-and-coming decorating trends, which are all expected to be big in 2021.
1. Invite nature inside. The great outdoors was a refuge for everyone looking for safe ways to get out of the house last year. But when work or learning tied people down, they turned to houseplants to brighten up their homes. Try adding a few new houseplants to your indoor garden, or go for natural materials like rattan.
2. Decorate with calming grays. Gray was actually just named one of Pantone’s Colors of the Year for 2021, due largely to its calming properties. If you could use some more zen in your home, paint a piece of wooden furniture gray, add a few gray throw pillows, or find other ways to incorporate the serene hue.
3. Experiment with Japandi style. In years past, Scandinavian style reigned supreme. Now it’s joining forces with Japanese minimalism to create a totally new approach to decorating. Japandi style melds the best of cozy hygge with sleek Japanese design, creating a space that’s both streamlined and welcoming. For instance, you could cozy up a modern love seat with faux fur throw pillows to achieve the look.
