Where to See Holiday Lights in DC

‘Tis the season to be jolly! It’s the happy holiday season! One of the best ways to celebrate the winter season is by seeing all the beautiful lights around the DC area. 

The first is aptly named- DC Holiday Lights– DC’s Main Streets and commercial corridors have joined together to bring the community a spectacular holiday experience. From now until January 8th, take a stroll down each of the participating corridors to experience a dazzling array of lights and decorations. Then, you can cast your vote for your favorite! 

Visit the National Christmas Tree– Always free to visit and open to the public starting December 2nd. Also, free to the public and broadcasted on CBS will be the Tree Lighting ceremony taking place December 11th at 8 pm et. 

ZooLights– A free and annual event of colorful glow at Washington DC’s beloved Smithsonian National Zoo. Taking place the entire month of December. 

Georgetown GLOW– For the entire month, experience light displays commissioned by national and international artists. This is the region’s only free curated outdoor public light art experience. 

Our nation’s capital is home to plenty of wonderfully festive light displays, sure to have you in the holiday spirit!
